SRO/SRD

In a significant move to enhance school safety, Dr. Steve Loden, Assistant Superintendent of Safety & Operations, announced that every school within the Camden County School District will have an assigned School Resource Deputy (SRD) or School Resource Officer (SRO) for the 2024-2025 academic year. This announcement was made during a meeting with district administrators, outlining the district's commitment to ensuring a secure learning environment for all.

"Dr. Green's top priority as Superintendent is the safety and wellbeing of the students, faculty, and staff on all school campuses," Dr. Loden emphasized. "We are grateful for the strong partnership between local law enforcement agencies and the school system."

The initiative underscores Camden County Schools' proactive approach in fostering a safe and supportive educational atmosphere. By having SRDs and SROs on-site, the district aims to not only address immediate safety concerns but also build positive relationships between students and law enforcement officials.

The collaboration with local law enforcement is expected to provide a multifaceted approach to school safety, including preventive measures, emergency response, and community engagement. Dr. Loden expressed confidence that these efforts will significantly contribute to the overall security and wellbeing of the school community.

As the district prepares for this enhanced security measure, training programs and resources will be made available to ensure that both staff and officers are equipped to handle a variety of situations effectively. The commitment to safety extends beyond mere presence, focusing on creating an environment where students feel protected and safe.

With the 2024-2025 school year on the horizon, Camden County Schools is poised to set a precedent in school safety, emphasizing that the protection and wellbeing of its students, faculty, and staff are of utmost importance.
