Title I
What is Title I?
Title I is a part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, which provides federal funds through the Georgia Department of Education to local educational agencies (LEAs) and public schools with high numbers or percentages of poor children to help ensure that all children meet challenging State academic content and student academic achievement standards. LEAs target the Title I funds they receive to public schools with the highest percentages of children from low-income families. These funds may be used for children from preschool aged to high school. Title I is designed to support State and local school reform efforts tied to challenging State academic standards in order to reinforce and enhance efforts to improve teaching and learning for students. Title I programs must be based on effective means of improving student achievement and include strategies to support parental involvement. Typically, Title I funds offer smaller class sizes through additional teachers, tutoring services for struggling students, professional learning, additional instructional resources, and supplies, as well as parent involvement materials.

School-Parent/Family Compact
Camden Middle School
2026-2027
Dear Families of CMS students,
Camden Middle School, students participating in the Title I, Part A program, and their families, agree that this compact outlines how the families, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for student academic achievement and growth as well as describes how school and families will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve lifelong goals and contribute to society.
JOINTLY DEVELOPED
The families, students, and staff of Camden Middle School partnered together to develop this school- parent/family compact for achievement. Teachers suggested home learning strategies, family members added input about the types of support they needed, and students told us what would help them learn. Family members are encouraged to complete the annual survey and/or attend the annual revision meeting held in May each year to review the compact and make suggestions based on student needs and school improvement goals. Parents are also encouraged to participate in the annual Title I parent survey that is also used as a tool to collect parent feedback regarding the current Title I programs and plans.

Camden Middle School Family Engagement Plan for Shared Student Success
2026-2027
Family Engagment
CMS believes that family engagement means the participation of parents and families in consistent two-way meaningful communication about student academic learning and other school activities. These topics could include ensuring –
That families play an integral role in assisting their student’s learning.
That families are encouraged to be actively involved in their student’s education at school.
That families are full partners in their child’s education and are included, as appropriate, in decision-making and on advisory committees to assist in the education of their child.
Camden Middle School is committed to helping our parents attend the parental activities listed in this plan. We will offer the meeting in various formats and times to best serve our parents. Please call the school at 912-729- 3113 if you have any questions or if you need assistance with childcare or transportation to participate in our programs.
